how to fix a canon mp470 printer when it says that paper is jammed. what can i do to fix it at home

There's not too much room for the paper to be jammed in the mp470. Try verifying that there are no small pieces of paper in the printer by getting out of a flashlight and having a look. There sure be a sensor that is covered or broken if there is a genuine jam. I would take a peak, and if you don't see anything, reset the printer (turn off and on). If the problem persists, it most likely needs service.
