My HP Laser Jet 1020 is making a groaning sound. It needs lubrication. How and where and how much of what kind of lubricant should I use?
Thanks for the advise.

HI:
I am attempting a replacement/repair of the HP feed roller for an HP 5L, but do not have a detailed picture which shows the orientation of the eccentric feed roller relative to the cams on the shaft. There are at least two ways in which the eccentric fed roller can be installed. Do you have a picture of ow it is SUPPOSED to look?

I have all the parts, pads, foam roller, retainer clip, etc, But there is a problem with the re-assembly and I think it is with respect to the feed roller.

2 more to add to the list: HP Laserjet 5si, these printers have had multiple problems with the LCD display either missing lines or not displaying anything at all. HP Laserjet 4200/4300, these printers start to make a grinding sound after a few hundred thousand pages. The problem: The swing plate gear and the matching gear on the fuser assembly wear out (sine it is spring loaded) and make a grinding sound. You will find a pile of plastic dust and worn out gears that requires replacing the swing plate and fuser assembly at the same time.

I have a hp laserjet 3030 that displays "Doc. feeder jam" but there is no jam. The feeder no longer works. Any suggestions?

I have an HP LJ 3030 and I am trying to replace the fuser sleeve. I have the printer torn down per the service manual and the fuser assembly almost apart, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the old sleeve off so I can get the new one on. I have the new one, and some grease to go with it (which is another question... what's that for and how do I use it?)

Do you have or know of any instructions available that could help me get the rest of the way with this fix? Please email me, if you would with a reply. Thank you very much!

Hey there,

Was looking at trouble shooting a repair I have recently made to a laserjet 5L. I am hoping that you'll be kind enugh to point me in the right direction.

The job i did was to replace the grey large central rubber sleeve which is situated over the central paper feed roller, i took the rubber sleeve part from a failed laserjet 6L. Everything seemingly went according to plan.

However i experienced several issues, now however i can get the unit to recieve data, but the central icon, shows a piece of paper folder over in one corner, led just flashes and the unit doesnt feed the paper through.

There are no jams that I can visibly see - the back half of the units housing is still off.

I cant get a test page either. The unit was fine except for the original grey rubber sleave on the paper feed roller got badly damaged thanks to a drawing pin and needed replacement because it started jamming.

Can you please advise, I have checked the HP forums and found little help there.

Thanks in advance for any input.
